passed away unexpectedly at home on Dec 15, 2015. He was the beloved husband of Shirley Moon Lemay. Bill was born in Central Falls, RI, the son of the late Walter O. & Loretta (Morrissette) Lemay.
Bill graduated from Central Falls High School and then entered and proudly served in the U.S. Army. He was employed by the U.S. Government/Department of Defense as a quality control specialist for over 34 years. He was a forty year member of Lincoln Country Club where he enjoyed playing golf and cards with his friends, and where he hit a hole-in-one on April 8, 2008. He also enjoyed his 30 years at Forecourt and occasional luncheons with his High School classmates.
Besides his wife, Shirley, he is survived by his three children, Jeff (Joann) Lemay of Providence, Joy (John) Lafreniere of Charlestown and Jay Lemay of Pawtucket. He also leaves his two grandsons, Cameron Walter Lalor and Fintan Stephen Lalor, four step-grandchildren, his sister Normance ("Gal") Lemay and several nieces, nephews, cousins and many dear friends. He was the brother of the late Laurel (Oscar) Champagne.
A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, Dec. 21st in the Church of St. Basil the Great, 15 Skyview Dr, Lincoln, RI 02865 at 10 am. Burial with Military Honors will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Sunday from 3 pm until 6 pm in the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave., Lincoln, RI.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to St. Basil's Church Building Fund or offering an act of kindness to someone in need, in Bill's memory, would be appreciated.
